BI-COMPONENT FIBER
The G-LOFT® bi-component fibre has a micrometre fine air channel running through it. As a hollow fibre, it provides optimal thermal insulation, just like the polar bear's fur in nature. The fibre consists of two different raw materials that contract to different degrees when they cool down after the spinning process.
This creates a spiral shape - similar to a spring - which is permanently fixed in the molecular structure. Due to the "MEMORY EFFECT", the G-LOFT® insulation therefore always returns to its particularly warming, airy original shape.
SPECIAL FIBER BLEND
Whether it's a duvet or outdoor clothing: depending on the desired texture of the end product, the G-LOFT® Bi-Component fib res are combined with a specific blend of micro and melt fibres (low-melt fibres). As full fibres, the micro-fibres ensure a flatter structure and thus a smaller pack size.
The low-melt fibres are responsible for the lightness and flexibility of the G-LOFT® insulation: thanks to THERMO-BONDING, their outer shell fuses with the other fibres, ensuring a durable, soft loft.
NATURAL CLUSTERING
The G-LOFT® fibres form so-called "clusters" within the insulation layer, as they are also found in high-quality down. Air is trapped in countless, small pads, creating optimal, durable insulation in all directions. Thanks to this clustering, which is unique for synthetic fibres, the G-LOFT® fibre has similar thermal insulation properties as the natural down filling.
Unlike down, however, G-LOFT® fibre dries very quickly after washing and immediately returns to its original airy shape.
ADVANTAGES
WARM & LIGHT
Independent studies prove: The unique fibre technology gives G-LOFT® insulation an unrivalled warmth-to-weight ratio. The extremely hollow fibre results in a drastic reduction in specific weight and optimal thermal insulation.
G-LOFT® is therefore noticeably lighter and achieves a proven higher thermal performance than other insulation materials for the same weight.
HIGHLY COMPRESSIBLE
G-LOFT® products compress particularly well. Thanks to its good compression properties, G-LOFT® insulation traps air, which can escape again when sleeping bags, blankets etc. are packed and stowed away.
Thanks to the MEMORY EFFECT, the spiral structure of the G-LOFT® fibre is permanently retained and causes the soft loft to build up again quickly after unpacking.
TOP WET CONDITION PERFORMANCE
Nature as a model. The G-LOFT® fibre combines the advantages of natural down with the insensitivity of synthetic fibre. Unlike down, the G-LOFT® synthetic fibre itself does not absorb moisture and thus guarantees very high thermal performance even when wet.
G-LOFT® products are therefore ideally suited for use in wet and cold areas.
HIGH BREATHABILITY
Thanks to the natural cluster structure, the G-LOFT® insulation is particularly breathable. The air can circulate without extracting heat, optimum moisture transport is guaranteed and the body remains warm and dry.
The G-LOFT® products thus guarantee perfect temperature regulation in the outdoors and an optimal sleeping climate.
EASY CARE
G-LOFT® products can be washed in conventional washing machines without losing performance. Due to the "MEMORY EFFECT", the fibres always return to their spiral structure and guarantee lasting loft and optimal thermal insulation even after repeated washing.
Due to its easy-care properties, the G-LOFT® fibre is particularly suitable for allergy sufferers!
FLAME RETARDANT
G-LOFT® FRi was specially developed for processing in protective clothing and equipment. In addition to its excellent flame-retardant properties, G-LOFT® FRi also provides excellent thermal protection and thus has high bulk and flexibility at the same time. Tested according to DIN EN ISO 14116.
